Breaching Classroom Borders – Online Seminar - February 2017
Session 2: Effective Models for Integrating Mobile Devices into Learning
Lecturer: Rabbi Tzvi Pittinsky
Date: February 16, 2017
Thanks to smartphones and tablets, our students have a tremendous amount of computing power readily available at their fingertips. The challenge is how to effectively integrate these devices into the classroom in order to increase student engagement while minimizing distractions. This session will introduce educational technologies that allow for real-time assessment, get students excited about learning, and open up new vistas through augmented and virtual reality. The focus will be exclusively on free tools to which teachers can introduce their students immediately.
Participants in this session will become 'active participants' as different learning activities are modeled throughout the session. We will discuss the application of these activities to different subject areas as well as share various resources for further exploration.
