From Classroom to Classroom:
The Transition of Students from the College Classroom to the School Classroom
April 23, 26, 30 and May 3, 2018
Introduction
The admission of novice teachers into a school and into the educational system is accompanied by difficulties, challenges and hesitations both for the teachers and for the schools.
Novice teachers experience a dramatic process of transition, from being students in college classrooms to being teachers and educators in the field. The school staff has to decide on the best and easiest ways to absorb and to support the new teachers, while preserving their professional levels and high standards of teaching and team work.
This seminar is composed of three lectures and a panel of beginning teachers who will present various approaches to preparing new teachers and integrating them into the schools, ensuring a good beginning and building the foundations for the continuation of their teaching career.
Target Population
Novice teachers in the educational system, teacher mentors, principals of schools and other educational institutions, pedagogical instructors and teacher trainers from colleges and universities, stake holders and educational policy makers from Israel and from around the world.
Teaching Staff
The lecturers are all highly experienced in the field with which they will be dealing in the lectures: Prof. Zipora Libman, Dr. Eve Eisenschmidt, and Dr. Haya Kaplan.
Technical Support
Technical support will be available to the participants throughout the entire duration of the seminar. All you need is an Internet connection and earbuds or speakers.
